Alternate Incentive Options Still Being Explored

May 13th, 2008

Many members have asked about an update on expanding GlobalTestMarket incentive offerings. I can briefly address this issue. We were close to adding PayPal as a redemption alternative, but have delayed that option. Instead of reaching out to individual incentive vendors we are looking at a single solution.

There are various companies that handle incentive management. Some of these vendors can provide a package that offers multiple redemptions (i.e. PayPal, checks, air miles, gift cards etc). Instead of approaching one company to handle PayPal or air miles or gift cards we are looking for one solution to manage all of those options.

At this time I do not have a time estimate for launching such a solution. When I hear more I will make another posting.

Really good news! Thanks for working in this direction.
It would be great if GlobalTestMarket find a vendor that can make payments in a multiple ways.

Its nice to know that global is still working on trying to give its consumers more option. At least to me, it tells me that our opinions does matter and global is trying to keep their panels happy with different option to satifsy their diverse panel group payment likings.

I hope you keep the rewards the way it is; I like the way it is set up now. When other survey companies I use go to a payment vendor, it takes more points to redeem the same prize I would have gotten for lesser points in the past. I know when Paypal takes over a company’s payouts, it always costs more points to get the same amount of money. Sure it might be quicker, but it’s not worth the lesser payout.

    Jeff,

Do not fear we will avoid exclusive means of redeeming. We intend on providing a payment by check via the mail, and offering PayPal, and air miles etc. We have to give our members more options.

GlobalTestMarket is aware our membership values our point payout system. We do not intend on making you earn more points for less incentive. In fact we are looking to do the opposite. Stay tuned!

Yea, it would actually be a great thing though if we would be able to get the same payout with the same amount of points instead of a lesser payout. The rewards program is great, and global is one of the first survey sites i actually found that would be able to get me doin surveys for cash right away. But yes it would be great to find the vendor to do that kind of incentives program.

I got my check yesterday,This is the first check I got from survey company,I really love this website. I showed my check to my husband,he thought that was just some type of bank ads, after he looked at my check,he was very surprised ” wow~~~~that’s real ! I don’t believe it,it’s real! ”

Anyway,I love this website and thanks for working on other way to send the money to us.your survey company is the best!

To be honest, I just want the money. I don’t need any gift cards for places that I will most likely not end up going to. I think we should get our pionts cash them in and get are checks in the mail. I would rather wait a few days than bother with a paypal account. It just seems like more stuff to keep up with. I don’t know about the rest of the members on here but I have got enough to keep up with. Maybe it should go to a vote. Let the members decide. Send a survay out about which would we(the member) prefer. Look at the results and the most popular choice gets it. That would be fair and would let members know that they really do have a voice at GTM.
I would love to hear about what people think about me put it to a vote idea.

    Angelina,

Thank you for your comment, and I wanted to respond to calm any apprehension. GlobalTestMarket does not intend requiring members to create PayPal accounts or force them to select gift cards. We are merely expanding our incentive offerings. We will not stop offering a check received via the postal service. That option will remain alongside many other options.

GlobalTestMarket has run quite a few surveys regarding this issue and we will be adding the incentives that have been requested. Remember we are adding to our incentive offerings. We are not removing the current redemption method.

Well, I believe that GTM should introduce Paypal soon now as it seems that the paypal option has been held out from the GTM members for quite a long time.

Cheque payments take a long time to be processed and undue delays can occur.

Paypal is fast and secure and it is the most widely used. It is the the favorite among all international members. If you conduct a poll, I believe about 95% of members will vote in favor of Paypal.

Using paypal you can buy almost anything on ebay and several other sites.

Hope Garth has heard this and please provide us an update about the situation about introducing paypal as I believe a lot of members are holding on to their earnings to redeem through paypal.

I believe that the delay has been way beyond anybody’s expectations.

What do you have to say about this???

    Roland,

So many points to address. We have fielded quite a few customer satisfaction surveys to our US membership and our International membership. I had the same belief you had about 95% of our membership wanting PayPal, but shockingly it was split 50/50. That is why GlobalTestMarket will be offering multiple payment options rather than just using checks or just using PayPal.

I also agree the delay has been long. However, GlobalTestMarket is one of a handful of consumer research panels sharing development resources. We also must prioritize those limited resources and sometimes fires erupt that need dousing. I keep pushing to add PayPal and it is on our development radar. At this time I have not been given an expected launch date. That is why I continue to put heat on our Finance team to release funds as soon as possible to our check vendor.

    Hope that addresses your questions.

Glad to hear that there will be options. It would be nice if Paypal were one of the options along with just receiving the regular check. Some folks in have don’t mind paying a few cents to have the money come to their Paypal account if that means they will get it quicker. But yes, it is nice to know there will be options. Global test market has always paid honestly. You have to be honest in your surveys and in return for honest work they pay well. It’s a great way to save up and have some extra money for giving your opinion and making that opinion matter out in the world.
Thanks for letting us have our say.
    Juan

I am glad you are keeping the regular way of paying by check. I have paypal and I have spoken to a few webmasters who have alot of problems getting an account open with them. Then they have their “we can freeze your account at any time”, without notice ” option. They don’t do this to everyone, but just the same, it causes problems when they withhold a company’s money that they are trying to pay their survey takers or email readers with! Webmasters have made sure to ask many, many, many questions before they open an account with them. And no, I am not “dissing” them, this is a known fact. FYI Garth, you can type this into Google and get alot of information. I wish you luck and Godspeed with the process.

I’m hoping PayPal is an option real soon… I’d rather I wasn’t given a cheque since I would then have to go to the bank, which is something I haven’t done for years now.

BACS is a great way to get paid, its money straight into your bank account and you do not have a percentage taken away from you as do companies such as PAYPAL

    Virgilio,

At the moment members earn MarketPoints which are then exchanged for money. Money is sent via a check in the postal service.
