Fun Online Survey: Is Albus Dumbledore Gay?

October 26th, 2007

Well to me it does not matter one bit , i Think of it as another twist a rather brilliant one at that I might add , people seem to take the fun out of these books that are almost finished , besides he is a fictional character again I think she is Brilliant , its been there all along and some of us knew , suspected even some did not , we’ve been so focused on Harry & Lord Voldemort that we forgot about other Characters in the book I think this is a cool twist to bad it was not in the final movie ……………just my opinion my wife and I are sad to see this all come to an end .

for me its a good idea. putting a respected character such Albus Dumbledore a gay one is really another exciting scenario to watch for. because of this, one question formulated in my mind….”how many gay characters are really there in the story__real life?” hahaha!

Does it matter? NO it does not matter either way does it. Does it change the way anyone thinks of him or his character in Harry Potter? Probably not, not for me. So why would there be a survey. Why is being gay so different from being straight. we are finally reaching that point where it is okay to see this in society and that is an amazing thing. I am not gay and I only make this comment to say I am not defending myself I am defending my society. Surveys like this, asking tis question are things that keep us from growing as a culture & society. This character, this man, gay people have been around this entire time, my entire life, why does it matter who is and who isn’t.

    Valerie,

Good points. Please understand the questions in the survey do not reflect the opinions of the company nor employees of the company. This survey is intended to spark conversation among our members. Open discussion has brought forth progress in many areas in the past. Women’s right to vote, and civil rights. Heck even the American Revolution and the formation of the United States came about because of expressive thought and debate. Ignoring social topics will never generate progress or change. Thanks for commenting.

To me it’s not really a big deal since I have alot of gay friends that are both guys and girls. It just shows that they are ok with letting people know how they are and what the are for.It doesn’t really change anything with what they do and how you like them. It doesnt matter since people are like this everyday and they are always going to be around you. Theyll be others just coming out of the closet but they are still the same person you know about and that shouldn’t change what you think about them. It doesnt matter either way because you will still be friends with that person and like them for who they are.

I admire JK rOWLING Harry Potter series…..Now, it doesn’t matter for me if Albus Dumbledore is gay or not. It really depends to the author on how to pick up revelation which may have a big impact in the story…If JK Rowling will be making Albus Dumbledore a gay then so be it…i wud agree f that’s affect the whole story…Even f it never sounds good, the fact still remains that we are just readers and we cant do nothing with this….

What’s wrong with having a survey and discussion about this topic. Valerie and some others make good points about being gay is normal etc… which I personally agree with. But there are still other people who don’t agree and just because we don’t share their opinions doesn’t mean they should be ignored. Everyone has a right to their opinion, who has the right to decide that they are correct and everyone else is wrong? An opinion is just that, an opinion.
